De Gullah Way

De Gullah Way is Marshview Community Organic Farm’s after-school program rooted in Gullah Geechee culture, land-based learning, and whole-child development. Students receive academic support while building pride, skills, and connection through hands-on experiences in farming, foodways, storytelling, and community traditions.

Enrollment is limited. Completing the form helps our team follow up with next steps.

What Students Do

  • Homework & academic support in a consistent, caring environment
  • Garden-to-table learning: planting, harvesting, nutrition, and cooking basics
  • Cultural learning through stories, language, and Sea Islands traditions
  • Creative expression: journaling, art, spoken word, and youth-led projects
  • Leadership & teamwork through group responsibilities and mentoring
  • Wellness practices that reinforce confidence, belonging, and healthy habits
